Myofascial Release therapy

Myofascial release therapy and trigger point technique is a type of physical therapy often used to treat myofascial pain as well as fibromyalgia. The pain usually originates from specific points within your muscle tissues called “trigger points.” myofascial release therapy focuses on reducing pain by releasing the tension and tightness in the trigger points. This also allows nutrients and oxygen rich blood to move into an area to reduce pain and enhance cellular recovery while allowing toxins and cellular waste to move out. This will ultimately allow your body to Repair, Rebuild and Recover at a much faster rate. The tri-factor of performance (RRR) Repair, Rebuild and Recover.

Specialized Therapies

Tmj myofascial therapy for jaw pain and headaches

TMJ myofascial therapy is an advanced myofascial technique that addresses the muscles of the jaw including specific muscles inside the mouth. TMJ syndrome involves working on the muscles and soft tissues of the neck, shoulders, jaw, and head. This will include work inside the mouth which can be extremely beneficial. Releasing specific soft tissue restrictions will result in alleviating pain, improving proper tracking of the jaw, in addition it can greatly reduce the discomfort associated with multiple types of cranial and sub-occipital headaches

Class II laser therapy

Class II Laser Therapy provides a powerful non-addictive form of pain management by accelerating tissue repair and cell growth and reducing swelling and inflammation. Additionally benefits you’ll feel are a breakdown in scar tissue, improved nerve function, and stimulated trigger and acupuncture points.

TNT Assisted Stretching

There are several types of assisted stretching techniques we utilize in our clinic. We call them, The TNT stretches! Just like DINIMITE! but our most popular is the PNF technique, these stretches facilitate what’s called muscular inhibition and this is why this type of stretching is our favorite! Active PNF stretching uses your nervous system to override the tightness response in the muscles to improve your flexibility and functional range of motion.

KINESIO SPORTS TAPING

Kinseo sports taping alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. This decreases inflammation and pain of the affected areas while re-educating the neuromuscular system to enhance stability, prevent injury, and accelerate recovery.

Mofascial Scraping

Our myofascial scraping techniques are ideal for treating myofascial adhesions brought on by injuries or surgery. The history of scraping tools goes back thousands of years in multiple cultures. Today, many of these techniques utilize tools that are made of surgical stainless steel and are multiple shapes and sizes to allow a practitioner to access muscles, ligaments and tendons almost anywhere on the human body.

Percussion Therapy

Percussion therapy accelerates and enhances the repair of muscle fiber by providing rapid bursts of concentrated pulsations that travel deep into the tissue layers of the body. This enhances the flow of blood to different critical areas, allowing for pain relief and subsequently improving function and range of motion. Percussion therapy also facilitates a release and relax response in the muscles nervous system, in addition it helps refine neural communication allowing fast twitch muscle fiber to quicken its response and allowing an individual to improve their coordination, reflex and reaction time.

therapeutic ultrasound

Ultrasound delivers high frequency sound waves to reduce inflammation, pain, and muscle spasms which promotes a thorough healing process.

Myofascial Cupping

Cupping is a soft tissue therapy that encourages healing by creating a negative pressure or suction on the skin using dense silicone cups that pull up underlying tissues, blood, and other fluids close to the surface of the skin. This can greatly improve cellular recovery while enhancing elimination of cellular byproduct. Other types of cupping techniques we utilize include wet cupping with movement to address myofascial adhesions and scar tissue

MYOFASCIAl Trigger point acupressure therapy

The word myofascial means muscle tissue (myo) and the connective tissue in and around it (fascia). Myofascial pain often results from muscle injury or repetitive strain. When stressed or injured, muscles often form trigger points, like contracted knots, that cause pain and tightness in the body. In addition we include acupressure therapy with this technique, Acupressure is an alternative medicine technique similar in principle to acupuncture. It is based on the concept of Qi or Chi energy (  which flows through "meridians" in the body. In treatment, physical pressure is applied to acupuncture points with the aim of clearing blockages and allowing your body's energy to flow smoothly

External counterpulsation Therapy (ECP) & SEQUENTIAL COMPRESSION THERAPY (SCT)

External Counterpulsation Therapy (ECP) & Sequential Compression Therapy (SCT) are non-invasive therapies that are used to dramatically improve blood flow to the heart and body. When receiving ECP/SCT, a set of cuffs that look like "sleeves" are wrapped around the legs and inflate with air, this imitates cardiovascular exercise and substantially increases blood flow back to the heart which will lower your heart rate and reduce stress on the heart, In addition the therapy effectively eliminates cellular waste and lactic acid after cardiovascular exercise. This ultimately improves overall health and proper heart function.

Active Release Technique (ART)

Active Release Therapy (ART), is a manual therapy technique that works to correct soft tissue restrictions that cause pain and mobility issues. The goal is to break down adhesions and scar tissue in order to optimize function of an individual’s body movement. The technique can be applied to both acute and chronic conditions. It can be used with static or dynamic protocols to improve the movement of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and fascia.
